First, a big thank you to everyone who's played Animal Adventure 🙏 Thanks for waiting — the big update is almost here! A lot is changing, so here's everything in one place ahead of time, including our switch to paid. We'll let you know the day the update goes live.
It's all about the Golden Egg now
Racing to the finish line is going away. Instead, you'll fight for the spot by the Golden Egg and shove each other around to steal gold.
- Stay close to the Golden Egg and gold pours out. The gold you pick up is your score.
- Hit someone to steal a little of their gold. Knock them off the map to steal a lot.
Three rounds per match
- Round 1: Egg Smash — a battle of nerves over the spot by the egg
- Round 2: Brawl — no egg, just knock people off to score!
- Round 3: Survival Rumble — fall once and you're out! The top two from the earlier rounds start first, and everyone else comes in one after another. Last place comes in last.
What's coming in this update
- 11 maps — 5 Egg Smash, 3 Brawl, 3 Survival Rumble, rotating every match
- All 8 characters unlocked — Dog, Elephant, Ostrich, Parrot, Sea Lion, Goldfish, Crow and Tortoise, each with its own skill and ultimate
- Up to 8 players per room
- 31 Steam achievements
- All season pass rewards are free. You earn coins and XP just by playing matches
- No in-game currency to buy with real money
New ways to play
- Knock someone off the map and the point is yours
- In Brawl, the more hits you take, the farther you fly. Keep an eye on the % above your head!
- In Survival Rumble, the floor shrinks as time goes on
- The top three gold holders wear gold, silver and bronze crowns
- After each match, everyone watches the Best Moment replay together, then the top three take the podium
- Practice on bots in the lobby and try out different skills
- Chat with the emoji wheel or text chat (Enter)
Feel and visuals
- Before a skill lands, a circle on the ground shows where it will hit
- Send someone flying and the camera follows them out
- When you get hit, your portrait flashes and you see what hit you
- Your ultimate slot flashes the moment it's fully charged
- After a quick string of hits you get a brief moment of safety, so fewer unfair chain knock-offs
- The Sea Lion's snowball slides along walls and leaves an icy trail
- Hold Tab to see the current rankings
- Each round opens by introducing the map
- Knocked out in Rumble? Keep watching the fight among those still standing
- New players get a quick how-to, and their first match is just one round
- Text now fits its boxes in every language
Bots
- Even if you come alone, bots fill the empty seats so you can jump right in
- Survival Rumble bots fight with a new brain they trained on their own
- Bots look around before they move, so they spend less time circling in one spot
More stable matches
- The work is shared across all players instead of one host doing everything, so a slow host lags the match less
- If the host leaves, the match keeps going
- If your game crashes, restart within 30 seconds and you go straight back into your match
- You can join a match in progress if there's an empty seat
Taking a short break
- Team mode is resting while we make it more fun. For now, please enjoy free-for-all matches!
Switching to paid soon
- We'll announce the exact date at least a week in advance
- Price after the switch: $9.99 USD
- If Animal Adventure is in your Steam library before the switch, you keep it and can keep playing after it becomes paid. Steam handles this automatically, so there's nothing to sign up for!
